In der 99. Folge erzählt Karol vom Stadt gewordenen amerikanischen Traum inmitten des brasilianischen Amazonas-Regenwalds: Fordlândia. Überdies wird Fordlândia als ein zivilisatorisches Experiment des Autokönigs Henry Ford eingeordnet, das die Grenzen der Globalisierung veranschaulicht, lange bevor das Wort überhaupt erfunden wurde. Somit schlagen wir (ganz leise) eine Brücke von den 1920er zu den 2020er Jahren und ihre globalen gesellschaftlichen und wirtschaftlichen Ausformungen.

    Nach Fordlandia habe ich es nicht ganz geschafft (scheiß Dschungel!), aber eine ähnlich interessante „company town“ in Südamerika ist Humberstone in Chile, jetzt ebenfalls eine Geisterstadt:
