Es gibt ein Thema, das wir trotz seiner Bekanntheit nur selten behandelt haben: Die Kreuzzüge bzw. das Kreuzfahrerreich. In den fast 200 Jahren seines Bestehens hat das lateinische Königreich Jerusalem einige bemerkenswerte Schlachten erlebt. Zum Beispiel 1099, als Jerusalem am Ende des ersten Kreuzzugs erobert wurde. Oder die Schlacht von Hattin, die 1187 über das Schicksal des ersten Königreichs entschied und zum Fall der meisten Kreuzfahrerfestungen führte – siehe Folge HU033.
